Wow, it takes a moment to take all of this in, but I think I get it now. It has an oddly biblical, almost altar painting sort of feel to it despite all the obvious shamanistic details. A really nice bit of surreal fantasy.

Thanks! Actually I don't know exactly the real full meaning of this either. I played around with composition and some symbolism and pretty much intuitively arrived at the end result(well.. a little bit of thought was put into it as well). Guess it's supposed to be interpreted personally more than anything else.. I wanted to leave it a little vague for that :)

hmmm... I like how it seems like the priest is protecting the natives from the forest deity... if I'm reading the lines of your tension right it would seem that that's what's happening
